“It’s hard to describe the essence of Mimi in such a way others fully appreciate the depth and breadth of her talents.”

  • LISA:

It’s hard to describe the essence of Mimi in such way others fully appreciate the depth and breadth of her talents. In 14 years of yoga practice, she is one of the most well-rounded and gifted instructors I have encountered. In Mimi’s class there is something for everyone because her teaching style is practical and accessible to beginners and advanced practitioners alike. She has a unique ability to invite and motivate every student to take a risk and push to the edge. Because her classes are consistently anchored by the breath and integrated with strength work I always leave Mimi’s class feeling a bit taller, stronger, inspired and energized. She’s the best.

  • SCHROEDER:

Now in my fifties, I am an experienced yogi with over three decades of experience. Yoga is an essential part of my life - and for me, it’s all about the teacher. Mimi is one of those “teachers of a lifetime.” She was recommended to me by friends eight years ago and I have followed her ever since. I’m certainly far from alone in my great affection for Mimi, a remarkable teacher/spirit guide and friend. Her personal style is equally elegant and fierce, compassionate and tough, serious and delightful. I have also found Mimi’s student community to be extremely welcoming, inclusive and loving. Join us!

  • JAMES:

Mimi's teaching style is thoughtful, intentional, and pushes your physical and inner boundaries. Every yoga class interweaves her expert knowledge of physical movement, creative sequences, and experience across numerous yoga disciplines, martial arts, and dance.  She is present in every class and channels this into her uncanny ability to illuminate the potential in your yoga practice. As a graduate of her YTT program, she provided the space for me to grow, initially with complete strangers, but gradually and gracefully, with my amazing cohort, into a welcoming, passionate, and devoted community of yoga teachers.

  • JENNIE L.

Mimi is an incredibly thoughtful teacher who truly cares about the community and her student’s individual journeys. In her classes, you will often hear her pushing her regulars to master the next advanced pose while at the same time cheering on the newer students as they work towards learning the fundamentals. She can scan a room and create an experience that resonates with a large audience of students. Some of my favorite moments in class have been times when she has stopped to celebrate the accomplishment of a student. These are the moments that create true community.”

  • SHANA:

MRY is my favorite place to step away from life and focus myself with a practice that strengthens my body and soul. After exercising alone through the pandemic, nothing brightens my day quite like walking into the studio to be greeted by MRY’s teachers and the friends I’ve made through classes and workshops. My personal practice has grown exponentially with the help of my teachers and classmates, from initially struggling through basic postures to now feeling confident in myself though and playing around with more advanced postures. Since joining MRY, I have also been able explore different kinds of yoga, and each day I can find a class that fits my mood, whether that is a playful yoga-martial arts fusion class or a restorative yin yoga.

  • KRISTEN:

I love Mimi Rieger Yoga! It has become my go to neighborhood yoga studio, and becoming a member is one of the best recent decisions that I have made. All of the instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, and I love the variety of styles and flavors that all lead to a great workout and me feeling better than I did when I came in. It feels like a community oriented place to practice, versus somewhere overly corporate with the same exact flow every time.

“Do your body and your soul a favor - and give MRY a shot.”

  • JULI:

I’ve been loving the MRY | STUDIOS monthly membership. Of course Mimi’s classes are wonderful but I have also loved trying out new teachers. The morning classes with Megan and Lexi have such thoughtful, creative, and strong sequences. I highly recommend checking them out either live or recorded (if you’re not an early morning person.

  • MIKE:

MRY is a unique virtual studio! As expected, Mimi’s classes are amazing. However she also has a host of other talented teachers and offers a wide variety of classes. The instructors do a fantastic job of making you feel welcome. Additionally, they pay attention to your individual practice, offering specific suggestions and encouragement. This level of detail is difficult to find in virtual yoga, but Mimi and her crew have figured it out! In quarantine, I simply expected to maintain my practice. With the help of MRY, I’ve also been able to deepen my yoga and move further into some poses that have so far eluded me.

KIND WORDS FROM OUR GRADUATES

“The heart of Mimi's teacher training program, like her yoga classes, is Mimi's rare gift of seeing each individual.”

  • SOHAIR:

To say that the Mimi Rieger YTT program is transformational is an understatement. Mimi has put together an exceptional program that integrates the many diverse aspects of an asana practice and yoga and includes workshops and lectures by some of the most renowned experts in this field.

In addition, you will meet people during your training that will change your life forever. You will share an experience through which you’ve cried and laughed and grown in all the ways that life expects of you. And above all, you will become an integral part of a growing and global community, which will continue to support you on your journey beyond yoga teacher training.

  • ALEX C:

I applied to MRYTT looking for a new challenge, but I walked away with so much more. As a cohort, we grew together emotionally, mentally, and physically in ways I didn't know were possible with a group of strangers. From mindfulness, patience, and self-love, to communication, leadership, and holding space— these skills did not just impact my practice and teaching experience, but they positively impacted my personal and professional life as well.

Mimi and her talented team built a safe community of support and love that we will be a part of forever. I am eternally grateful for this experience and encourage those considering to step out of their comfort zone. Even if you are unsure about teaching, immerse yourself in MRYTT. You will not regret it.

  • SHIRLEY:

The heart of Mimi's teacher training program, like her yoga classes, is Mimi's rare gift of seeing each individual. To become Mimi's student is to be seen in your entirety as a yoga practitioner, future teacher, and member of her devoted community.

I am grateful to be among those who have received the gift of Mimi's attention, encouragement, and expertise. Mimi's training will prepare and inspire you to teach— but more importantly, it will inspire you to engage in your own journey, wherever and whatever that brings you.

  • ARI G:

Words can’t express the gratitude and love I have for every moment I experienced during Mimi Rieger’s 200HR Power of Teaching training. Only now can I truly understand what a “life changing” event means. I graduated not only with a deeper knowledge of the philosophy of yoga but also with a higher sense of who I am and for that, I’ll be forever thankful.

  • JOHN:

This was a fantastic teacher training!! I feel I have an extremely solid basis from which to teach students. Mimi is a talented educator, inspiration and leader in yoga. I could not imagine a better experience.

  • EMMA:

Mimi brings to her teacher training programs what she brings to her classes: her guidance is personalized, rigorous, and supportive, and she has a gift for sourcing courage and strength in her students. I find so much joy in teaching now because she helped me to be entirely myself—there is no other option but to practice and teach from the heart.

KIND WORDS FROM OUR HAPPY TRAVELERS

“I already know I will be returning to this magical land with this inspiring community next year.”

  • ELLEN:

My retreat with Mimi and Jamie to Blue Osa in Costa Rica was such an incredible experience! The respite from a DC winter into the gorgeous Central American jungle would have been enough, but add to that Mimi's unparalleled ability to motivate students in the stunning shala overlooking the water and Jamie's naturally calming nature...I didn't stop smiling all week. The food was healthy and delicious. The accommodations were jungle chic. The dharma and sangha were the cherry on top. This was my seventh yoga retreat and won't be my last with Mimi or to Blue Osa. 5 out of 5 would recommend to anyone at any stage in their yoga journey!

  • ELANA:

I absolutely LOVED Mimi's Spirit of the Soul yoga retreat in Costa Rica! I knew it would be beautiful— a week of yoga, the ocean, and beautiful humans— but I had no idea just how transformational it would be for my life. I felt so deeply connected to Mother Earth and to the Universe, I was surrounded by the most magnetic energy from the jungle to the rainforest to the sunrises to the warm Pacific Ocean— and I felt so calm, refreshed and alive. I already know I will be returning to this magical land with this inspiring community next year.

  • JOSH:

This was my first yoga retreat and I had no idea what to expect as my plane took off on a cold and cloudy day in February. I left a snow-covered D.C. in an emotional cloud as well. I had been struggling emotionally and mentally for weeks. I almost didn't get on the plane. I am so glad that I did. It was as if the universe knew exactly what I needed. I landed in a warm and balmy tropical paradise. Mimi and Jamie led unparalleled practices that were the perfect embodiment of power and grace, yang and yin. The practice and entire experience was just so special. I left Costa Rica feeling as if I had been emotionally healed. I can't wait for next year.
